Guiling Wu is a Tenured Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has led and completed more than 10 research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National 863 Program as the principal investigator.

Dr. Wu has authored over 100 academic papers as first or corresponding author and holds more than 40 granted patents as the primary inventor in the United States, Europe, and China. He teaches the courses "Fundamentals of Optoelectronics" and "Optical Fiber Area Networks." His research contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Hubei Province Natural Science Award and the Okawa Foundation Research Grant from Japan.
