Kan Wu is a Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his B.E. (2006) and M.E. (2009) degrees from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and his Ph.D. (2013) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Dr. Wu has achieved significant research outcomes in ultrafast photonics and integrated optoelectronics. Four of his papers have been recognized as ESI Hot Papers and Highly Cited Papers, with his publications accumulating over 4,000 citations and a single paper receiving more than 500 citations. His work has been published in leading international optics journals including Light: Science & Applications, Nature Communications, and Optica. His research on dual optical frequency combs and nonlinear dynamics in microcavities has been selected for Postdeadline Paper presentations at several prestigious international conferences, including CLEO 2024, ECOC 2024, and CLEO Europe 2021.
Dr. Wu has been consecutively recognized in the Stanford-Elsevier list of the World's Top 2% Most Cited Scientists from 2020 to 2024. In terms of practical applications, the integrated beam steering chip he developed received the First Prize in the 2023 JKW "Yuanchuang Cup" National Innovation Competition. Furthermore, this chip was selected for the component verification mission aboard the China Space Station, with the experimental prototype launched in May 2023 and having successfully operated in orbit for over one year.
