Linjie Zhou is a Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, honored as a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor by the Ministry of Education. He has led or participated in over 40 research projects, including those from the National 973 Program, 863 Program, Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Major/Key Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Dr. Zhou has authored more than 300 academic papers in international journals and conferences, receiving over 5,000 citations. He has filed more than 40 Chinese invention patents, with over 20 granted. He has been invited to deliver over 100 presentations at prestigious international conferences such as OFC, CLEO, and GFP. In recent years, he has served in various organizational roles, including session chair and Technical Program Committee (TPC) member, for more than 30 international conferences in optoelectronics and optical communications (e.g., OFC, FiO, ECOC, ACP). He also holds editorial board positions for several journals, including IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, Advanced Photonics Nexus, MDPI Photonics, and is a Topical Editor for Optical Materials Express.

At Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dr. Zhou serves as a mentor for the Doctoral "Zhiyuan Honors Program" and the Undergraduate "Junzheng Program." To date, he has supervised 19 doctoral students and 40 master's students. His graduates have received numerous honors, including the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Fellowship, Shanghai Outstanding Graduate Award, Shanghai Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Talent "Sailing" and "Rising-Star" Programs, and the OFC Corning Outstanding Student Paper Award.
