Liangjun Lu is a Tenured Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a recipient of a prestigious national-level youth talent program. As the project leader, he has completed more than 10 research projects funded by the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (including the Young Scientists Project), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including General and Youth Programs), sub-projects from the Commission of Science and Technology, and the Shanghai Municipal Government (including the Explorer Program).
Dr. Lu has authored over 50 papers as first or corresponding author (including co-author roles) in leading international journals in optoelectronics and communications, such as Nature Communications, PhotoniX, and Optica. His research impact is consistently recognized by his inclusion in the annual Stanford-Elsevier list of the World's Top 2% Most Cited Scientists. Professor Lu holds over 40 invention patents granted in the United States and China. His research achievements have been honored with several awards, including the Second Prize of the China Electronics Society Science and Technology Progress Award, China's Top 10 Optical Breakthroughs, and the Huawei Outstanding Technical Contribution Award.
Dr. Lu was selected for the 2023 Shanghai Rising-Star Program (Category A) and received the 2022 "Ji Hanbing Teaching Fund" Faculty Award from the Department of Electronic Engineering. Under his mentorship, his students have received prestigious honors such as the OFC Corning Outstanding Student Paper Award, an OFC Finalist Award, and the POEM Conference Best Student Paper Award.
